GEEAR I

Project Overview

GEEAR I is a traditional 4.5m surface vessel adapted for autonomous operation. It was developed to demonstrate how a low-cost traditional vessel can be easily adapted for autonomous operation and navigation using our FIREBRINGER solution.

The capabilities of the vessel range from standard point-to-point travelling and trajectory tracking missions to more advanced interactions with third-party vessels and dense swarm applications.
GEEAR I was the first large-scale autonomous surface vessel to be developed on Cyprus soil. While it was originally developed for testing and demonstration purposes, it is expected to be also utilized for the validation of State-of-the-Art sensing and perception technologies, as well as short-term data collection missions.
